Commitment to sustainability…
EXPOTUR has adopted its commitment with the environment by informing and educating participants on the effects and impacts of human activities on the environment. In addition, it promotes and highlights those companies that have good practices programs, accreditations and initiatives that are environmentally friendly.
Thus, for EXPOTUR 2012, the goals are:
- Carbon Neutral Event: It will compensate for the carbon emissions generated by the event, as it has done in the past three years.
- Sustainability as a daily experience: All the different activities of EXPOTUR will emphasize the importance of the commitment to sustainability as a model of daily life.
- Raising participants awarenes: It will promote the importance of adopting the commitment to sustainability and good practices as a responsibility that we all must assume.
- Decrease of printed documents and promotional materials: Encourage the reduction and elimination of printed material.
- Social Corporate Responsibility: A selection of vulnerable groups will be involved in EXPOTUR activities, and as well trade fair will be promoted.
- Management and handling of residues: Disposal stations for residues will be included in the venue and responsible handling of waste materials will be promoted.
- Recognitions: EXPOTUR will acknowledge and accredit participants who comply with initiatives that promote sustainable practices within the tourist industry.
