Mild in the central highlands, tropical and subtropical in coastal areas.
Costa Rica has a pleasant weather all year round. The average temperature in San José ranges from 14º to 24°C (57 to 75°F) in December, and from 17º to 27°C (63 to 81°F) in May. The average in the Caribbean Coast at night is 21°C (70°F) and over 30°C (86 ° F) during the day. The Pacific Coast is warmer than the Caribbean, but less humid.
